DRY SHED
This is probably the most common chondro problem. It is the easiest to resolve too if it is treated promptly! If you don’t do the treatment within 24hours it will be more difficult to remove the old dry skin!
First tip is how to avoid it!
Please take a good look at your chondros each day when you do a daily maintenance in your chondro room! Watch for opaque ones! If you spot any chondro that looking opaque start to mist that one more often than others. Provide him a very humid environment otherwise you will end up with a chondro that has stuck shed on.
Neonates are more prone to dry sheds then adults so watch them closely!
Second tip is how to resolve it!
Place your chondro in a small and adequate tub along with some wet paper towels. Make sure there is very little standing water in the tub to prevent drowning! It is also a very good idea to put a small rock or piece of wood inside too so chondro can rub itself! Place the tub, with the snake inside in a warm place around 28-30 °C and the shed should come off within 24 to 48 hours.
Third tip is to learn that DRY SHEDS ARE MUCH EASIER TO PREVENT THEN TO RESOLVE!
